Biography
Born and raised in Phoenix, I have devoted my now 30 year career in law practicing in the criminal arena. First, I was a Deputy Maricopa County Attorney prosecuting drug related crimes, then transferred to a general trial group to share my litigation skills with other attorneys. I thought being a prosecutor meant that I would be able to see justice served. However, I learned as a prosecutor that politics and policies mean that justice is often overlooked.
I became disenchanted with being a prosecutor. I knew my talents could be better used fighting the system then being a part of it.
I became a Certified Expert in Criminal Law in 1995. And, in 1997, I began my own law firm. Having represented thousands of clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges for 30 years, I have learned tactics and methods that I believe will best protect my client’s freedom, reputation, and constitutional rights. I am not afraid to challenge the government at all levels. I love to think outside the box and find creative solutions to my client’s problems. I would like to believe that my team and I are pretty good at finding those solutions.
In the last few years, I have expanded my practice to help more people than I could on my own. I have been training a new core of phenomenal criminal defense attorneys and staff. I would like to believe that we are a premiere criminal defense lawfirm that will do all we can to represent our clients and obtain results that most attorneys would dream about.
I continue to write, having published my first book, Busted: Secrets Cops And Prosecutors Don't Want You To Know! in 2017. My second book, A Client’s Guide to Arizona Criminal Law and Procedure is set for publication in May, 2018.
I have continued to lecture to defense attorneys, law enforcement and the public about all issues involving the criminal justice system. I have been a “talking head” for multiple television and print stories about local and national criminal matters.
I have been recognized as the Attorney of the Month, by Attorney at Law Magazine. And, a year earlier recognized as their Specialist of the Month.
When you want an experienced attorney who can answer your questions, provide you the guidance needed to understand the criminal process, and work a case in such a way that you hopefully obtain a favorable outcome, then please consider contacting me.
