State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors – Non-Lawyer (Public) Members
Purpose: The State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors oversees the policy making and operations of the organization. The Board is comprised of 30 people: four non-attorney, public members; three at-large members and three district governors appointed by the Arizona Supreme Court; 16 attorney members elected by fellow Bar members in their district; and three ex-officio members (immediate past president/board advisor and the deans of Arizona's two law schools).
Openings: Non-Attorney (Public) Member
Candidate Criteria/Qualifications:
- The public governors must not be members of the State Bar and must not have, other than as consumers of legal services, a financial interest in the practice of law.
- No more than two public governors may be from the same district.
- No individual may serve more than two terms as a public governor
Term: 3 years
