Winners Named in 2025 Arizona Attorney Arts Competition in Music Category

Congratulations to Matt Feeney, the 2025 winner of the annual Arizona Attorney Creative Arts Competition in Music, and to Doug Passon, who received an Honorable Mention in that category.

Their work – along with that of winners in all categories – is featured in our May 2025 issue.

Matt Feeney is a partner and former Chair of Snell & Wilmer. He and retired Arizona Court of Appeals Judge Larry Winthrop have been musical partners for more than 40 years. They are members of feeney/winthrop, along with Pat Winthrop, Luke Holton, Ellen Hawley McWhirter and Alvaro Morello. The group’s 10 albums are available on Spotify, ITunes and Amazon Music.

Since 2008, feeney/winthrop’s annual benefit concerts have raised more than $750,000 for St. Joseph the Worker, a job service for the homeless.

Feeney wrote “The Streets of Seattle” and co-wrote “I Came Home to You” with Luke Holton.

Doug Passon is a criminal defense lawyer of nearly 30 years and an award-winning documentary filmmaker who combines his passion for filmmaking and storytelling with his practice of law by producing short documentary films for use as mitigation at sentencing and for damages in civil matters (www.dougpassonlaw.com).

Passon has been playing guitar and writing songs since his angsty teenaged years. These two songs are part of his recently released first record, “One Good Thing,” available on vinyl and wherever you stream your music!
